surf internet on tv like computer, play regular dvd, blue ray, burned dvd-r ,dvd+r, dvd-rw, dvd+rw. usb falsh drive having pictures, videos: MPEG2, MP4, WMV, 3GP, AVI. do email, youtube, netflicks. unit is HDMI input, your dvd player or recorder wich may have your cable tv source available to feed into it. can use for blogtv and chat, this unit utilizes java power well, unlike msntv2 units wich have lower memory for viewing videos over a couple minutes. this device will play full lenth videos from usb flash drive or YouTube. all browsing pages will be very clear on tv, and a 720p or 1080p web pages look clearer than laptop and even from desktop vga screens. the SONY unit is good for people who are frustrated with computers, and may just want to read web pages or look at videos on YouTube, also a good recomemdation for people not much into computers, because they only need a internet connection wireless, hard wire. for news people, they can get CNN, CNBC, app or go to YouTube for news like Russian Times (RT), wich has shows more news details often than CNN. its good for your internet service to have 3 mbps or more, because in household may be a Playstation 3 or X-Box, wich use the internet also and slow down video playback on other devices.
My Sony TV randomly rebooting

Model: Sony KDL-40HX803. Keeps rebooting randomly, especially in the morning. Does it 3 or 4 times and then its stops. There is no aerial connection. The SKY box is connected on HDMI1, BluRay on HDMI2, PC on HDMI3. The solution is to replace the pc board in the TV. Sony were not keen, probably because its expensive, and didnt believe me – until they saw the video!
