Tron Legacy Blu-Ray Sound Problem

Horrifying and loud sounds coming from my Tron Legacy Blu-Ray on my LG BD270 Blu-Ray Player.

Hi all, I had this problem and I just solved it. Initially I did the “press the audio button on the controller” which solved it but also activated the audio description which was annoying. I have since discovered that if I go to my Blu Ray player settings and change the audio, HDMI to DTS re-encode the probelm goes away. Hopefully this will help others?

Hi, I too have this f’ing problem on my LG BD350 and LG TV. It’s happened a few times now on such Blu Rays as Toy Story 3, two copies of Tron Legacy and three copies of Day Breakers! After almost throwing the thing out of the window I thought I’d try here and see if anyone had any success? I’ve updated the firmware to no effect. Does the “pressing the “audio” button on the remote twice, switching it to Dolby 2 channel” actually work? I hope someone can help me out? Cheers

Hi. I have the exact same problem on my LG HB354BS….. the same heroundous sound and everything, i took my first copy back thinking it was the disc but apparently not!

Has anybody had any progress on how to fix this issue? did andymcp148 find out any further information from LG?

  4. megaman8186 – I live in Brazil and I have the same problem with the sound. My TV is also Sony. I came back to the store and there they used a LG TV and worked without noise, I got other bluray and when in my house again I played and the same noise in the same part. What we can do about it?

Thanks, I switched the audio mode to Dloby by pressing the audio button in my remote control few times, and then it worked.

Hey, I had the same problem with Toy Story 3, and experience with Tron Legacy this AM. Upgraded the firmware, no dice. Found your video. Then I found a thread which helped me resolved the issue on my LG BD370.
Advises to press the “audio” button on the remote twice. It switches it to Dolby 2 channel which works.
Hope that is helpful to you.

Ok, so I got through to LG customer services, they are not aware of the issue but have taken note of the problem and will be passing it back to headquarters to look into. His thoughts were that this was a firmware issue as this was a similar issue to when avatar was released for some of their players, something to do with the anti priacy security layer on the disk. anyway heres hoping they call back to confirm that hey are going to release a firmware update to sort the issue!

I have an LG HB954PB home cinema and the sounds are exactly the same for this movie. The special features and future releases videos on the disk work fine, just the main feature movie that doesnt and like yours sounds like its about to burst the speakers! I havent seen any other tron issues like this on any other brand of player on the net, looks like this is an LG issue. I’m going to call them up to see if they know of this issue. If I make any progress will post here for
    guidance.
